Cassona is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Banson as the Secretary of Cassona Global Imaging Ltd, Ghana, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cassona USA Inc (DBA Cassona International) based in San Francisco, California.

Mr. Banson is a Founding Partner of Robert Smith Law Group, a boutique law firm located in the Central Business District of Accra, Ghana. He heads up the firm's practice areas in Alternative Dispute Resolution, Investment Advice and Corporate Governance. Bobby Banson has been advising Clients in various industries such as real estate, mining, petroleum, manufacturing and trading since 2011.

In addition to his active practice, Mr. Banson also teaches Civil Procedure at the Ghana School of Law (Main Campus- Makola). He is a certified Tutor of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and has authored books on civil litigation and arbitration ("Civil Litigation in the High Court of Ghana" (2022) and "Commercial Arbitration in Ghana: Practice and Procedure (2024)". He has also published several peer-reviewed law review articles on the subject matter of arbitration and litigation.

Mr. Banson is a graduate of the prestigious Adisadel College, studied law at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) and obtained his professional accreditation, Barrister at Law (BL), from Ghana School of Law in Accra-Ghana where he graduated as the best student in Law of Taxation. He also has an LLM in International Business Law from the University of Brussels (ULB).

Mr. Banson is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrations, UK and certified as an Arbitration Practitioner (Arb.P) by the Swiss Arbitration Academy. He is awaiting a Diploma in International Arbitration by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, hosted at the Oxford University, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Arbitration from the Universities of Lucerne and Neuchâtel in Switzerland.

Mr. Banson has represented clients in arbitrations before the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA) and the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) as well as the Ghana Arbitration Center, including in Adhoc Arbitrations.

He has been named one of Africa's 50 promising arbitrators. Currently, he is a founding member of the steering committee of the Ghana Chapter of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Ciarb) as well a member of the panel of Arbitrators of the Ghana ADR Hub.  Mr. Banson is a Director of the Atlanta Arbitration Society (Atlas) in Georgia, USA.
