EDUCATION ACROSS PARTS OF GHANA ---Stella Ama Andoh
In an era where healthcare technology is advancing rapidly, continuous professional development and academic-industry collaboration have become critical to improving healthcare delivery. Cassona Global Imaging Ltd. has positioned itself at the forefront of this effort by delivering impactful training programmes, educational workshops, and regional outreach initiatives in partnership with Mindray that equip healthcare professionals and students with the knowledge and practical skills required in modern medical imaging.

The company's commitment to capacity building was recently demonstrated through a specialized training programme at 37 Military Hospital, where radiographers and sonographers received hands-on instruction in Neonatal and Adult Transcranial Doppler techniques. The training offered participants practical exposure to advanced diagnostic applications, enhancing their ability to support accurate clinical decision-making and improved patient outcomes.
Cassona's impact extends beyond healthcare facilities into tertiary institutions, where the company is helping to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. At Valley View University, students from various institutions, including the University of Ghana and Accra Technical University, also participated in a workshop focused on biomedical engineering and medical imaging. Students gained valuable insight into emerging healthcare technologies, industry trends, and career opportunities within the rapidly growing healthcare technology sector.

Cassona's educational initiatives also extended to Academic City University College, where biomedical engineering students participated in interactive sessions exploring innovations in medical imaging and the growing role of technology in healthcare delivery. These engagements have created valuable opportunities for mentorship, networking, and knowledge sharing between students and industry experts.
In the northern part of Ghana, the company engaged Biomedical Imaging students at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Tamale, through a specialized ultrasound training programme themed “Advancing Clinical Care Through Intelligent Ultrasound: From Diagnosis to Decision-Making." The session combined theoretical instruction with practical demonstrations, providing students with first-hand exposure to intelligent ultrasound technology and its clinical applications.

Further strengthening its nationwide educational outreach, Cassona organized a three-day training program in Kumasi that combined client visits, student training, and end-user technical support. The initiative engaged healthcare facilities, including St. Joseph Catholic Hospital, Pulse Health Services, Evmed, and Ecopulse, where healthcare professionals received technical guidance on equipment use, maintenance, and advanced imaging applications. The visits also enabled Cassona's specialists to identify opportunities to upgrade equipment systems while reinforcing relationships with existing clients. The company's engineering team further serviced some equipment as part of its commitment to ongoing technical support and customer care.
A major highlight of the Kumasi training was a student workshop hosted at Garden City University College, which brought together approximately 400 students and 20 lecturers. During the workshop, participants learned about the latest innovations in ultrasound technology, including Mindray's smart imaging and automation features. Students also benefited from hands-on training using the Mindray Z50 Ultrasound System, gaining practical experience in image acquisition, machine operation, and diagnostic imaging techniques. The interactive sessions gave students an important opportunity to translate classroom knowledge into realworld clinical practice.

Beyond Kumasi, Cassona strengthened its outreach in the Central Region through hospital visitations, user training programmes, and an educational workshop at the Nurses and Midwifery Training College, Cape Coast. The event exposed nursing students and educators to the growing role of intelligent ultrasound and X-ray technologies in patient diagnosis and care while inspiring future healthcare professionals to embrace innovation in clinical practice.
The excitement among participants was evident throughout the session. One nursing student shared:
“This session was truly inspiring. Seeing advanced ultrasound technology in action has increased my confidence and excitement about the future of healthcare.”

Reflecting on the success of the engagements and visitations across the country, a facilitator from Cassona Global Imaging remarked:
“I am delighted by the enthusiasm and active participation we experienced across all our engagements. The passion shown by students and healthcare professionals gives us great hope for the future of healthcare in Ghana.”Mr. Minilik, Facilitator, Mindray Application Specialist.
Through these initiatives, Cassona Global Imaging continues to bridge the gap between academia and industry, fostering innovation, professional development, and knowledge transfer across Ghana's healthcare ecosystem. By investing in healthcare professionals, students, and institutions, the company is helping to build a workforce equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.
As demand for advanced diagnostic services and healthcare technologies continues to grow, Cassona's commitment to education, training, and strategic partnerships positions the company as a key contributor to healthcare advancement in Ghana.
Through innovation, collaboration, and a dedication to learning, Cassona Global Imaging is helping shape the future of medical imaging in Ghana, demonstrating that education remains one of the most powerful tools for advancing healthcare.
